How to improve your writing skill?

Writing refers to "the expression of ideas in a systematic way to organize the graphic convention of language."

Writing is a complex skill which most students actually need in order to successfully go through college. 

A student who possesses good writing skills will automatically do better at everything, including exams, essays, assignments, and so on because everything is based on writing during academic years.So we at Delhi Public School Loni Sahibabad give more importance to practice English than just teaching and lecturing as practice provides many opportunities to the students for developing their writing skills. We conduct different  activities to improve their  writing skills like Essay Writing Competition.An Essay Writing  Competition was conducted on Fit India Movement also where participants were asked to write an essay on the topic Fit India Schools. In lower grades also students  get to write an essay ,a subjective piece, the teachers provide the students with a vocabulary box. This box  includes difficult and relevant words that the students can use in their essays. Doing this helps students increase their vocabulary and the right placement of new words in a passage or text.

Teacher's sometimes  make the task more lucid by providing meanings of difficult words and then asking students to apply in their text.One of the most effective methods that  we  use  is to ask students to rewrite an already existing text in their language. This is mere rephrasing. Students, this way, don't lose direction or go haywire about what they’re supposed to write.

We at Delhi public school Loni Sahibabad make students the editors! Peer reviews help inculcate a sense of responsibility towards the content piece. After students complete writing their texts or essays, they exchange their scripts with other students and ask these students to critically analyse and correct the text.
